What does it cost?

Between US $5,500 – $9,000, depending on choice of preparatory materials and registered education provider.

3 years experience in financial services, to be earned before certification.

What are the exam details?

Five hours long, with 140 multiple-choice questions: 125 scored and 15 non-scored pretest questions. It is a computer-based examination administered at a local Pearson VUE testing center near you.

What does ANSI accreditation mean?

We hold the gold standard of accreditation, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under an international standard for personal certifiers (ANSI/ISO 17024) and have maintained accreditation for nearly a decade.

What are the renewal requirements?

  1. Complete and report a minimum of 40 hours every two years of continuing education (CE) credit, including two ethics hours and one hour of Tax or Regulation
  2. Pay a recertification fee
  3. Pass a background check, disclose any regulatory complaints, and agree to adhere to the Institute’s Code of Professional Responsibility and Rules and Guidelines for Use of the Marks, as well as disclosing any federal/state regulatory actions or complaints.
