Corporate Efforts in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Top Down + Grassroots = Change

One of the clear truths that has emerged about DEI change efforts is that “change must start at the top.” And while this is true, it is also the case that often the most pervasive change efforts start at the advisor-level and rise throughout an organization. Hear from this panel of experts about a variety of successful DEI programs using both approaches: top down corporate change programs, and programs that started at the grassroots level.

Speaker Bios

Kevin has served his clients’ wealth management needs since 1994. The focus area of his practice is strategizing with boards of non-profit organizations, foundations and endowments in the creation of prudent investment policies, portfolio design and implementation, and fiduciary responsibility. Kevin is also experienced in a broad range of comprehensive wealth management strategies for affluent families, including development of customized investment policies, conducting manager search and due diligence, and comprehensive portfolio performance monitoring.

Kevin earned his M.B.A. in Finance, with honors, from the University of Oregon’s Lundquist School of Business. He holds a B.S. from the University of Oregon, graduating cum laude with a triple major in Finance, Management and Marketing. Kevin has earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst and the Certified Private Wealth Advisor designations under the joint auspices of the Wharton School of Business, Chicago Booth School of Business, and the Investments and Wealth Institute (IWI).

While Kevin spends a great deal of time partnering with his clients and volunteering in his community, Kevin’s passion is climbing mountains. To be more precise, Kevin has undertaken the mountaineering challenge of climbing The Seven Summits; the highest mountains on each of the seven continents. To date, Kevin has climbed 4 of the 7 summits. Beginning his journey in 2005 with the summiting of Mount Kilimanjaro (the highest summit in Africa), Kevin has subsequently summited Mount Elbrus (Europe), Mount Aconcagua (South America) and most recently in 2018, Carstensz Pyramid (Australia). The remaining three mountains are Denali (North America), Mount Everest (Asia) and Mount Vinson (Antarctica). To join this exclusive “Seven Summiters” club, is a privilege held by few. Those who have succeeded number less than 500 in the entire world. Kevin aims to complete his journey by the year of 2022 and will need fitness, commitment, and determination. As said by the famed John Muir, “The Mountains are calling and I must go.”
