Biography

A data-driven CMO, Eric weaves together rigorous performance marketing, corporate strategy, and brand.  He has over 20 years of experience in startup, growth, and public technology companies, realizing multiple successful acquisitions and an IPO.  Eric has a track record building and scaling high growth B2C and B2B disruptors in industries undergoing transformation — including financial services, telecom, cleantech, and cloud computing. Prior to TIFIN, Eric served as CMO and SVP of Growth and Performance Marketing at Personal Capital.  While at Personal Capital Eric scaled consumer marketing while reducing acquisition costs and helping to grow assets under management by 6x during his 5-year tenure.  The company was acquired by Empower Retirement for $1 billion. Eric previously led marketing and product organizations at a variety of technology companies, including Intermedia, GreenRoad, Covad, Hewlett-Packard, Macromedia (Adobe), and Dialogic.  He co-founded and, as COO, scaled venture-backed ITXC, from zero to $338M in revenue in 45 countries, leading to a successful IPO and secondary. Eric has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School.  He has a Bachelor’s, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of California with a double major in Economics and Political Science. Eric is an adjunct faculty member at the University of San Francisco’s Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
