Dividend Investing Strategies - Why Quality Matters in Uncertain Markets - 9.29.22
With dividend payments surging in the first half of the year, many investors gravitated to high-dividend-paying stocks. These stocks – at times considered to be slow growth investment options – have collectively delivered a compelling track record of long-term total returns.1 We believe dividend-paying stocks continue to be a valuable complement to an investor’s core equity holdings. However, not all dividend investing strategies are created equal in our view. Selecting the most appropriate strategy for your clients requires an understanding of the financial decision behind the dividend payment.
Join two members of the GQG Partners investment management team for insights on assessing dividend investing strategies, particularly during times of market volatility, and factors to consider when creating and implementing your own strategy.

Learning Opportunities:

• Examine today’s market and sector performance for U.S. dividend-paying stocks, and the potential impact of different market environments in 2023.
• Compare popular dividend investing strategies and how they perform during volatile and inflationary markets.
• Review key benefits of dividend-paying stocks and how they may complement core-equity holdings.
• Understand the risk of relying exclusively on backward-looking screens and explore the benefits of a forward-looking view.
• Evaluate the attributes of passive versus active management with dividend investing strategies.

International Dividend Stocks - The Overlooked Corner of the Market - 10.27.22
International dividend-paying stocks can be an important contributor to growing retirement savings while also providing income during retirement years. Yields are often higher in countries outside the U.S. and a broader menu of dividend-paying stocks is typically available for selection. It’s not about owning all of international (i.e., an index). It’s about knowing the stocks you own and understanding the opportunity costs when those investments are excluded from your portfolio.
Join GQG Partners portfolio manager, Brian Kersmanc who will share what he views to be important considerations when it comes to selecting international dividend-paying stocks and how they can fit into your broader investment strategies.

Learning Opportunities:

• Understand how international dividends can enhance an overall dividend income strategy through diversification and broader company selection.
• Consider the importance of dividend income investing for retiree clients.
• Learn the benefits of pursuing companies with sustainable dividends versus screening only for high yields or growing dividends.
• Discover the GQG approach to managing foreign exchange and international regulatory risks.
