Avi Sharon is an executive vice president and product strategist based in PIMCO’s New York office. He is responsible for broad business management as well as developing and leading strategic initiatives aimed at driving growth within the traditional product franchise. Before joining PIMCO in 2018, he was a principal at Blackstone, where he helped launch the firm’s retail alternatives initiative. Previously, he was a managing director at AllianceBernstein, where he ran multi-asset product management, led wealth management group research and marketing, and was interim head of investor relations for the firm. He has 22 years of investment and financial services experience and earned a PhD from Boston University. He earned an undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta.
Pete Golden is chief sales and distribution officer for the individual retirement business at Equitable Distributors. In this role, he is responsible for the individual retirement business across all channels of distribution, including: wirehouses, independents, regionals, banks, career agency and P&C divisions. He oversees strategic accounts, sales management, wholesalers, internal sales desk, advanced markets and sales training functions. Golden has been with Equitable Distributors since 1996, and prior to his current role, was a divisional sales manager and wholesaler covering relationships across banks, wirehouses and independent financial institutions. He was recognized as “Wholesaler of the Year” three times. Before joining Equitable, Golden was a regional sales representative for SunAmerica Asset Management. He graduated from Boston College with a degree in economics.
Robert Powell, CFP®, RMA®, is editor-in-chief of the Investments & Wealth Institute Retirement Management Journal, host of the IWI’s Exceptional Advisor podcast, and serves as a faculty member of the IWI’s Retirement Management Advisor certification program. He serves as the editor and publisher of Retirement Daily on TheStreet.com and as a retirement columnist for USA TODAY and MarketWatch.com. Previously, he served as a managing director of DALBAR. He is also co-chair of the Swampscott Age-Friendly Committee, the chair of the Swampscott Council on Aging/Senior Center, and a member of the Swampscott Retirement Board. He earned a BA from Marquette University and an MS in journalism from Boston University.
