Masterclass 9: Having the Exit and Value Conversation with the Business Owner
Through research, the Exit Planning Institute has formed a process for having better conversations with business owners who are approaching exit events through a formula that helps professional advisors to be more empowering. This session will share that formula while introducing the Value Acceleration Methodology and the role of the wealth manager or financial advisor. The attendee will learn techniques to establish trust and credibility, and better serve and engage the business owner.
Scott Snider is the vice president of the Exit Planning Institute (EPI) and the operating partner of Snider Premier Growth, a small family investment company. At EPI, Mr. Snider is responsible for the strategic direction of the organization along with overseeing the company’s operations and chapter development. Since joining EPI, he has expanded the organization regionally, nationally, and globally, providing a transformational educational experience to advisors from all specialties across the globe. Mr. Snider is a nationally recognized industry leader, growth specialist, and lifetime entrepreneur. Two of his biggest talents are market penetration and rapid growth strategies. In fact, he launched his first business at age 17, winning accounts from larger competition and establishing notoriety in his local marketplace. At 24, he sold to a strategic buyer (his first “exit”) and joined forces with Chris Snider’s private exit planning and mergers and acquisitions firm, Aspire Management, which at the time, was looking to dominate Northeast Ohio’s exit planning space. Within one year, he took Aspire from an unknown startup to one of the most influential boutique advisory firms in Cleveland, citing over 13 publication pickups, a full client book, and a COI network that included every specialty from across the exit planning ecosystem. With their passion for business strategy and serving owners and advisors alike, Snider and Snider purchased EPI, introduced the Value Acceleration Methodology, wrote an award-winning book, and effectively increased the business size by 10x. Mr. Snider has been featured nationally on ABC News Now, is a recipient of the Crain’s Cleveland Business 40 Under 40 Award, the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) 40 Under Forty Award, the Northeast Ohio 25 Under 35 Mover and Shakers Award, The M&A Advisor 40 Under 40 Emerging Leaders Award, and is a graduate of the Cleveland Bridge Builders Program, Class of 2013.
