Workshop 16: What Is Really Going on When Life Events Happen?

Inheritance, widowhood, retirement, and divorce are one-time life changing events. They may sound familiar to you as an advisor, but they present new and unfamiliar territory to your clients. When money changes client lives pivot in confusing directions, what seems easy becomes complex. The other side of life events, the human side, is the unseen driver of decisions, commitments, delays and sometimes regrets. This is particularly true when these events overlap, retirement quickly followed by widowhood may also be followed by an inheritance. Life can be complicated, that’s when a trusted advisor is essential. This session is designed to give advisors and their clients a simple map to follow when life events happen. Through client case stories you will learn how to help clients make their best decisions by breaking through confusion and overwhelm using a transition planning tool for any situation.
